You give someone explicit directions on how you want something done, they give you their yeah..yeah..yeah bullsh1t, you know as soon as they walk off their mind goes completely blank. You come back an hour later, something is done almost the exact opposite of how you wanted.......if it even got done at all. You ask them , they look at you like you have a breast growing out of your head, and say something totally fvcking stupid.

WTF is wrong with people?

Just venting, had a bad day, surrounded by stupidity.

It's gotta suck being a supervisor/manager. So much pressure to get stuff done, and your subjects... er, the people employed under you most likely think of you as an evil oger of a man. Probably the worst thing about it is that you're not sure if a person is being a suck up or is genuinely interested in having a conversation with you.

I don't have to deal with that, because I am the one that does everything wrong :)

It only sucks being management if you actually fit the stereotype of the stupid manager. I've had managers who were incredibly brilliant, efficient, and great people to boot. I've also had managers that are schizoid coke fiends. Take your pick.

Your case is still better than mine.
Everytime I asked my technician to do something, I gave him detail instructions and even explain why I want him to do it and what I'm doing it for. When I finished, instead of following my directions, this sucker started telling me his "point-of-views" and kept on B.S. And then even when I asked him to just shut up and do his job (well, I had to said that I respected his opinion, but I didn't have time and would you please just do what I said?) He ended up by doing his own way which screwed up everything for many times.

One time, I asked him to change some resistors and capacitors on my board. When he finished, I got a dead board. I asked him which ones that he did so that I could reverse the course. And guess what, he said he didn't know. WTF

Everyone in my company has had problems working with this dumbass but there's not much we can do since he's the ONLY BLACK dude in my company. He never follows orders but loves to give orders and opinions.
Imagine an electronic technician without much electronic backgrounds is trying to teach design engineers (including senior guys) how to get things done during our project review meetings.

This sucker has an BS degree in Electronic at Phoenix Univ. (located in Fremont, Calif)

I really wanna whup his ass. Any advice?

"Everytime I asked my technician to do something, I gave him detail instructions"

Is that a written change order?

If it is and he does not follow them he should be fired.

BTW, how much does the job pay?

Well, I'm a boss. And when this cr*p starts happening I start playing games. I give wrong instructions. I especially like to give obviously wrong directions and see if the idiot notices. I also like to send someone out on a fake errand at exactly the time the big guys are coming in to do their stuff, and then deny it. Also, I tell everyone else about the new policies (there are always new policies) and not the idiot - often, this is someone who never bothers checking his e-mail, so I dump things there to cover myself. Etc.

If I didn't enjoy this I wouldn't be very good at managing.

Yeah, I get that on a daily basis so I've gotten used to it. I had some b!tch chew me out the other day cuz she thinks it's okay to stand around and talk for 10-15 minutes every hour because "she works so hard and gets tired." Hehe, I have a page full of notes for her to do when she comes in Wednesday. I'll either break her in properly or fire her trying! :D
