"I'm alone, but I'm not lonely."

Love that quote from De Niro in Heat. It's all in the state of mind.

I wouldn't call it loneliness, but after a couple of days of being alone I basically exhaust my options for entertainment and want to get out/socialize. That or I feel left out.

That said, if I have to go alone for an extended period of time I can do it without serious repercussions.

I normally like being alone, but I feel lonely every so often.

It's worse on valentines day. I hate that goddamn hallmark holiday.

I have a few friends (mostly women) that complain about being lonely all the time.

I think you should give them some much needed companionship. Maybe make them some waffles. Then break out the syrup.

As to the actual question, only at certain times.

I will actually be doing exactly that this weekend; waffles with butter & maple syrup and some bacon on the side. I can hardly wait.

KT

:camera:'s will be forthcoming? Of the waffles at least?

sometimes.

not often, but sometimes coming home to an empty apartment after working late on a winter night, it just hits me.

I never feel lonely anymore. I've been this way ever since I became the keeper of time. You can't have this job if you feel loneliness or let it bother you if you do feel it.

Sure, why not. Nothing wrong with a little breakfast porn.

For a few seconds, then I'm quickly reminded of how annoying it is to keep someone company.

I've only had my "freedom" back for the last 2 months ... (gf moved out) .... I'm still happy to be alone.

Same here. My wife and I both enjoy alone time, often much more than spending time with others. However, my family lives 12 hours away, and I only see them once per year (not even that this year), so I miss them a lot. That's not the same as being lonely though.

The opposite. Even a low maintenance girl friends takes up too much of my time.

I was happy before where 90% or more of my free time was alone time.

i have a wife and a 3yo daughter. getting alone time is nearly impossible and it drives me crazy
