No, never been that bad. I think I would just quit first (well, I have walked away a few times and said fuck it only to have the boss at my door begging to get me back in the door - though I don't think that would ever happen with my current employer).

Any place that bad would probably still expect you to come into work. :D :(

I think there are jobs like that, and then there are days like that. I've had jobs I've hated going to every single day, and that really motivated me to go to college. Right now I have a job I love, but there are days that kill you - like last week, at the end of a 70-hour week, the servers had issues and I'm stuck fixing them Saturday night until 2am in the morning.

If you're feeling like you hate your job consistently, it might be time to look for a new job!

Just remember, if you hang in there long enough, good things can happen in this world. I mean, look at me.

I'd hate to deal with any injuries, and all the politics that surround a car wreck, and the blame game, possible charges, insurence hike etc...

But I often feel that, there's no way I want to work all my life. Life is too short to waste it away at work. Our whole society system is broken, when we have to live "for the man" instead of ourselves. By the time you retire you have all these health issues and are about to die of old age anyway. I like my job, I just can't imagine devoting my whole life to it. Would be nice to own a cottage somewhere and be able to just enjoy nature all day and live for myself.

Well any job, I just said office but I mean work in general.

There's no way to get by in life except by the sweat of your brow, whether figurative or literal. Though it's preferable when you enjoy your job and take satisfaction in your career. Unless you want to be a dictator or something. Then you have paranoia and insanity to look forward to. :D

Be patient and work hard to make your bosses bosses bosses as much money as possible and you too will be rewarded greatly some day possibly.

Yep.

There's an opening in my current office, just got an interview. I was dead set on cancelling my spot Monday because I hate the work that I do (and will do if I get it), pay would still be relatively low, and bunch of other reasons. On the other hand, I can't think of anything that pays as well that I would actually be happier doing.

Having actually been in that scenario and getting away without injury, I wouldn't say it's better. My job sucks and it's draining, but losing my car on account of someone else's aggressive DUI and equal irresponsibility was depressing on its own.

I felt like that today. I had a botched migration project dumped on me two weeks ago and I had to make it happen this weekend. Making it more fun is that I'm new to the company and the guy who botched it was fired before I arrived. I told my wife that I need to find something easy and mindless to do.

would rather be sleeping than going to work at times, but my shift starts at 5:30 AM and I sleep later than I should

at the job, I usually wake up pretty fast given the nature of my work. time flies pretty fast too.

The point is, if you enjoy what you do, you won't see it so much as "work".

Any time you have to be somewhere for some time, it is work. Of course it's just reality and just have to live with it, but does not mean you have to like it. Work Is *MUCH* better than school though. I would rather be doing what I'm doing than to be in school. So just have to think positive.

Only way to really get away from the work thing is to either win the lotto or run your own business, or get a job where you make over 100k then you just work for a fraction of the years you normally would have to. Though TBH, if I did win the lotto, I'd probably keep working, and put that money towards something to make more money, I still like to know that I earned my money.

Also if I ran my own company everything would be shift work and operations would be 24/7. With shift work at least you do get lot of time off and it's win win for everyone. I'm lucky for having shift work, I can't imagine going back to the 8*5 thing again. I hope they never outsource or relocate my curent job.

my old job would still consider getting mangled in a car wreck an occurrence against your attendance. Someone had a heart attack once and he got an occurrence as soon as the stretcher passed the front door.

no, i actually like my job and kinda look forward to it. but then again i don't work somewhere where working more than 40 hours a week is the norm, and there is no forced overtime or anything.
