Dude, that's one of the worst things you can do. If you want, I can share a whole bunch of things that really messes McDonalds up.
So here's the deal, there's salt in the fry vat and there's salt in the tray where you dump the fries. Some people have problems with salt, so McDonalds tries to accomodate them.
If you order fries without salt, they not only have to make a new batch, they have to dump a vat. After dumping the vat, they have to clean their pan that you dump the fries into. They also have to freshly wash the thing you use to dip the fries into the vat.
Chances are, they're not going to make a whole batch of unsalted fries. So they're going to have to monitor the fries more closely since there aren't as many.
Major hassle. It's people like your friend who make fast food lines slow down. Remember that next time you get stuck in line or stuck in drive-thru. Somebody had to be a moron.
That's also why it's not courteous to go through the drive-thru and order a bunch of special orders. Or make them take seperate orders for the same car. If you're going to do that, unless you're trying to mess with the system, just take it inside and order it to go. Since I worked at McDonalds, I always check fast food situations to see whether it would be faster to order through the drive thru or to walk in and get it. Sometimes it's actually faster to get it from the lobby, including the time it takes to walk to and from your car.
That said, I employ every trick in the book to waste time whenever I go to the McDonalds I used to work at... just to piss Joe off.
