So I walked over to the McDonald's ... didn't realize how cold it was so I'm freezing in a ratty sweatshirt. So there I'me counting out my change to see what I can get and settle on a medium fries and small coke. Give the guy the money, and he's looking at me kind of wierd, asks if I'm ok as he gives me my food. I mumble something and shuffle off to a table to eat.

A few minutes later the manager comes out with a cheeseburger and says he wants me to have it, that I look like I need it. I try to explain that I'm really not homeless ... that I'm just completely burnt out and to tired to walk across campus to the ATM. But I gave up and ate it anyway. Felt good that someone cared, but really embarrasing/guilty at the same time.

I must have really looked fragged.

lol, thats cool that they cared though...

One of my friend would always order the fries with no salt, so they had to make a fresh batch. THen he'd go over to the condiment counter and salt them himself.

Back in tha day, I worked at Krystal. It didn't take long for the manager to figure out that I was his only competent employee, and I was "promoted" to the drive-through window. One Friday night, this bunch of malcontents rolled up and ordered some Krystals and fries. For one of the few times while I worked there, the fries were actually fresh. I bagged up the asshats' orders, and passed them out. A few seconds later, one of them was banging on the window. When I opened it, he claimed that his fries were cold. I put them in our super industrial-strength microwave for a minute. The plastic-coated boxed was melting. I chunked them right back in the bag and tossed it out to the punks. I guess they were hot enough then.

Dude, that's one of the worst things you can do. If you want, I can share a whole bunch of things that really messes McDonalds up.

So here's the deal, there's salt in the fry vat and there's salt in the tray where you dump the fries. Some people have problems with salt, so McDonalds tries to accomodate them.

If you order fries without salt, they not only have to make a new batch, they have to dump a vat. After dumping the vat, they have to clean their pan that you dump the fries into. They also have to freshly wash the thing you use to dip the fries into the vat.

Chances are, they're not going to make a whole batch of unsalted fries. So they're going to have to monitor the fries more closely since there aren't as many.

Major hassle. It's people like your friend who make fast food lines slow down. Remember that next time you get stuck in line or stuck in drive-thru. Somebody had to be a moron.

That's also why it's not courteous to go through the drive-thru and order a bunch of special orders. Or make them take seperate orders for the same car. If you're going to do that, unless you're trying to mess with the system, just take it inside and order it to go. Since I worked at McDonalds, I always check fast food situations to see whether it would be faster to order through the drive thru or to walk in and get it. Sometimes it's actually faster to get it from the lobby, including the time it takes to walk to and from your car.

That said, I employ every trick in the book to waste time whenever I go to the McDonalds I used to work at... just to piss Joe off.

was in mcdonalds eating once and a homeless guy came in and asked me "can i talk to you for a sec". apparently he wanted some money to buy some food, but he was mumbling and it came out like
"can i offer you oral sex". i'm not the only one who heard this as a couple strangers sitting next to me nearly spit out their food.

i told him sorry i wasnt into that and so he asked me again for money and this time more clearly and i ended up giving him a dollar. he got kicked out of the mcd after appreratnly trying to buy a meal w/a dollar. lol ...

edit: was w/my gf and another person which made it even funnier

When I worked at Disneyland, broke teenagers would take empty hamburger boxes from the trash cans and come up to the counter and say there was no burger in the box. We usually shrugged it off. Then a customer told our shift supervisor what they were doing and the supervisor let me confronted them cause somebody else from their group tried the same thing. I said "Well you can enjoy your stay here at the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day or Anhaeim Police Department. Your choice". They just smiled and just walked away.

McDonald's is a saint for speacial orders compared to Disney foods. During a rush hour, if somebody ordered "no tomatoes", the guys in the back would just take a regular burger and remove the tomatoe. Then hand it to the counter people. Our resturant was always making fries, so a no salt wasn't a big issue.

A few friends of mine and myself walked through a drive thru. We walked up, screamed at the speaker, but nothing happened. So we walked up to the window and said the speaker was broken and we'd like to order. The manager came out and checked the speaker, asking where our car was. We asked him "what car?" :p

Some bk manager prolly has a nutty story about kids walking through the drive thru. Nonetheless, they took our order.

At my mcdonalds, at least, the microphone didn't trigger unless there was a car pulling through. And most places won't let you walk up to the drive thru and order. I tried doing that a few times at a few different fast food places in Kansas City when the lobby was closed but the drive thru was still open.
