Do you ever bargain at McDonalds, Wendy's, or Burger King?

Inspired by Chris Rock comedy sketch but have you ever done something similiar to this in real life or been witness to haggling at fast-food restaurants?

What are your crazy stories from McDonalds, Wendy's, or Burger King?

It doesn't work. I used to work at McDonalds. People would try to bargain. I'd tell them to rob the convenience store down the street and get back to me about their sandwich.

:Q So why didn't you use one of the McDonalds saying on the girl in the Burger King drive through? I am sure you would have learned valuable customer service working at McDonalds...

A guy I went to high school with would do this stunt every once and a while...

On a boring Friday night, he'd bust out the phone book and call 3 or 4 near by fastfood places. They would answer, and he'd say, "Hi. My name is Mr.XXX and just went through the drive through at your place. The food is cold and the fries are too salty." At this point the employee would invite him to return to the store to have his food replaced. He would then say, "I'm at work on a 3rd shift so if I can't leave again to come get it. Would it be okay if my son (giving his own name) came in to pick it up for me?" They would say yes every time.

After he had done this to 3 or 4 places, he'd drive around to each one and he and his buddies would eat free.......Funny, but totally dishonest :disgust:

Subway's pretty good.

The Quizno's I've tried tends to be pretty greasy and loaded with mayonaisse or oil, so I prefer Subway instead.

Ick. Those places are disgusting. I refuse to eat at Subway or Arby's. Ive never had Sonic.

When I worked at arbys we would ask what they ordered and go look it up, if it wasn't in there we would tell the jerks to not come back. We didn't put up with that crap

I too dislike most fast food restaurants. The bottom 3 being Burger King (the worst of the worst), Taco Bell, then McDonalds. Interesting that you include Sonic. All the Sonic's I've ever eaten at serve greasy, disgusting, low quality food. Arby's quality varies drastically from manager to manager. I worked at one Arby's for 3 years and it is very good food there. Paper thin meats - no fries older than 3 minutes, etc. But I've tried other Arby's that serve meats cut thick like steaks and fries that are 10+ minutes old. Sadly I live in a city where there are no good Arby's. But Subway and Quizno's are quite good - and where I eat most of my fast food meals.

Wouldn't just naming any value meal pretty much work around that? Surely tons of value meals are ordered at lunch and dinner times.

Sonic does vary widely between stores too. The one close to my house is pretty good, less than 1/2 the greasiness factor of the one close to my work. Usually all I will get there is a burger w/ mustard and a bun, nothing else.

People of all kinds. If you want crazy stories, go to the same bar or the same coffee shop or the same restaurant every day and sit there. Talk to everybody. I guarantee you will get all the crazy stories you want.

Heh ... college story time.
Middle of finals & senior design ... I haven't slept in days, look like complete sh|t. I'm hungry, but don't have any cash and don't want to walk to the ATM so I scrounge around in pockets, under seat cushions, etc until I come up with a small handful of change. So I walked over to the McDonald's ... didn't realize how cold it was so I'm freezing in a ratty sweatshirt. So there I'me counting out my change to see what I can get and settle on a medium fries and small coke. Give the guy the money, and he's looking at me kind of wierd, asks if I'm ok as he gives me my food. I mumble something and shuffle off to a table to eat.

A few minutes later the manager comes out with a cheeseburger and says he wants me to have it, that I look like I need it. I try to explain that I'm really not homeless ... that I'm just completely burnt out and to tired to walk across campus to the ATM. But I gave up and ate it anyway. Felt good that someone cared, but really embarrasing/guilty at the same time.

I must have really looked fragged.
