Do you enunciate the 'l' in "solder"?

I say it with the 'l' enunciated, but it seems more common to leave the 'l' out and just say "sodder".

I pronounce it like slaughter without the l. The only person I know who pronounces it solder is Rush Limbaugh.

EDIT: I suck at emoticons

You do realize he's referring to a material used by electricians among other professions to secure wire to a terminal among other purposes, not a person in the military, right?

[Middle English soudur, from Old French soudure, soldure, from souder, soulder, to solder, from Latin solidre, to make solid, from solidus, solid. See solid.]

That said... I say "sodder"

We are not talking about member of the military here. Solder. No I.

I've never heard anyone say the word. I see it on forums so I've always just read it. I've always thought it was with the L.
