I never done so. But I figure sandwiches and chips should be okay on that list and so does non alcoholic drinks like coffee or water. But any food that requires attention should be a strict no. I will never risk taking my eyes or attention off the road.

What about you all? I guess most of you have eaten stuff as you drive? Have the cops given you any trouble for doing so like this guy experienced?

I did just this morning for breakfast. Had me a 2 for $3 sausage and egg mcmuffin and a hash brown. Little things like that are easy to eat with 1 hand. My friend got in a wreck trying to eat a big ass burrito from chipotle. A bunch of salsa dripped down into her crotch area as she was trying to eat and swerved off the road and hit a pole. She was lucky she wasn't going very fast.

I assumed it was against the law, but I do it sometimes.
Especially if I need to run an errand on my lunch break and need to eat on the way back to the office.
It's definitely distracting and can cause issues, but I still do it because I am cool.

I mostly eat while going to work in the mornings as I usually grab something on the road or get a quick bagel from home.

No. The only time I can recall doing that is when we were on a road trip and my passenger was able to feed me snacks like chips and such.

This is why I don't eat at Taco Bell. Eating a tostada while shifting is too complicated.

I have eaten hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets in the car while driving.

would not eat a taco, sub, or anything messy/complicated to hold/eat while driving.

Not breakfast, lunch or dinner. Only on long drives. Easy foods like jerky, peanuts, chips. Or fruit pulled from the cooler.

Yes, but only when driving home on a country road, never in town or with a lot of traffic

I'll grab the occasional french fry from a bag of food, but generally no. As a driver, I'm too busy paying attention to things and not dying to concern myself with eating, and as a passenger, I'm too busy worrying that whoever is driving is actively trying to kill us both, which is something of an appetite killer.

I do this on long road trips, but very rarely.

I used to have skills, too. You know you've made it when you can drive while eating a subway sandwich and rolling a joint all at once.

Eat - rarely unless I'm pressed for time. A few weeks ago was running late to work, traffic was terrible, all while trying to consume a breakfast burrito.

Drink - coffee or water sometimes.

Almost never, the exception being occasionally on long trips on the interstate. Never on other roads though, they're too unpredictable.

No, I don't eat in the car, I hate crumbs in the car or sticky steering wheels. I dont like to clean, so easiest way to keep it clean is to not make a mess in the 1st place. When we go on road trips, I stop for meals when I'm hungry,

I eat french fries all the time while driving. And drink from my water bottle with a straw.
