I eat...semi-healthy. I'm not suckin down on salt, trans-fats, fast food, grease ect. But I also don't purposely cook or eat healthy because I think healthy food tastes like crap mostly.....I usually have a jimmy johns or noodles and co for lunch though....but those are "healthier" options than mcdonalds and shit.

Yes I eat semi good a lot of fish and whole grains but sometimes skrit which doesnt natter cuz I run for 45 minutes a day 6x a week. No lifting because I blow up if I touch weights which is not good for much besides bar fights. Much rather have heart at 50 BPM. In fact I'd wish I was built like bean pole cuz they live longest in my observations.

A) Yes, but not in the traditional sense. I eat a lot healthier than you'd think for someone that frequents fast food restaurants

B) Yes, all the time.

Started doing P90X last year at 45 and am chugging along nicely with a P90X/P90X+/Insanity hybrid workout about 4-5 times a week. I work off of a truck and lift and bend and climb all day, and it is a bit of a chore to run home and work out for 60-90 minutes in the afternoon, AFTER I've been up since 145am and have to get my daughter from school at 230pm and also have to make dinner before wife gets home at 6pm. But I do make it work for me. Got my heart rate down to about 55 and BP at 99/70. Lost about 25lbs I didnt think I had to lose. Got down to a 31/32 pant size from a 34/36. And have muscles that I can actually see, for the first time in my life.

I aslo radically changed my diet and eat as healthy as I can. No junk, mostly fruits and veggies to snack on. Skim milk, PB&J sammich for lunch, granola/Kashi type cereal and fat free yogurt for breakfast. Any lean protein like eye round roasts, chicken, center cut pork chops for dinner. I have two kids and a wife to cook for and I have to be mindful about how I cook for them as well as myself.

Peace

I find that it isnt too difficult to eat out and eat healthy at the same time. You just have to be conscious of the choices you make. Is that flounder smothered in a buttery alfredo sauce? Or is it grilled? If you get a salad bar, skip the fatty condiments, no big deal. Chicken fajitas are a great example. Forgo the sour cream and tortillas and eat all the chicken and veggies you want.

As you can tell, I am no fun at a party.

Yes and yes

I think I eat healthy for the most part. Sometimes I splurge, like I had a sonic foot long chilidog for lunch today.

Workout - yes, last night I did 2.8 miles on the treadmill, 150 pushups and 200 - 250 behind the head curls with a 25 pound weight. Tonight will be about 75 - 100 curls with 50 pound weights, 2.5 - 3 miles on the treadmill and around 250- 300 crunches on the ball. The workouts usually last about an hour.

10 minutes on treadmill for warm up 3.5 degree incline
15 pushups
20 - 25 curls
5 minutes 10 degree incline on treadmill
15 pushups
20 - 25 curls
5 minutes 3.5 degree incline on treadmill
15 pushups
20 - 25 curls
5 minutes 10 degree incline on treadmill

repeat for an hour and no break in-between sessions

What is with your obsession with curling? Biceps are one of the smallest muscles in the body.

Normal week consists of 5 days of workout, 2 days of jujitsu. I eat as healthy as I can but sometimes its hard when Im broke half the time. Everytime I do order, I order healthy. Whole grains, fruit, veggies, lean protein etc etc.

Yeah, the diet thing with kids is was usually gets me. They want their pizza and fried chicken and Chinese food...you can't just avoid that stuff when it's always sitting around looking delicious :) I use Saturday as my pigout day, but I'm pretty calorie conscious during the week.

Its really not as hard as people think it is. Its all about moderation. People focus way too much on making sure they avoid ingredient X or get enough of micronutrient Y, and don't spend nearly enough time focusing on the big picture.

Don't gorge yourself, and you'll be fine. Make simple, conscious decisions (like getting water instead of soda at a restaurant) to make things better as a whole.

The diet game is a lot simpler than most people want to make it.

My diet isn't great, but it's not terrible. I do most of the cooking, pretty typical family dinner menus most of the time. A portion of meat, usually pork or chicken fixed in various ways. I avoid marinades with a lot of corn syrup but sometimes you just crave a sweeter sauce like this awesome sweet chili sauce I discovered recently. Then there's usually a starch like noodles, rice or some kind of potatoes and a green vegetable like frozen peas, beans or broccoli on the side. Occasionally there's fast food, pizza, or the Chinese buffet for dinner, but that's usually only a couple times per month. I don't eat breakfast often, when I do it's cereal. Lunch is usually a sandwich of some type. I drink a couple of cans of pop per day. Terrible habit, one I had kicked for a while, but I just crave that sweet carbonated caffeine. And once or twice a week I put back a few beers. The good stuff too, plenty of calories, none of the light crap. I don't get a ton exercise, I'm certainly not about to go out of my way to do it. I get exercise from yardwork and walking the dog, you couldn't pay me to spend time actually going to a gym. I'm 6', 185lbs at age 35, I could probably stand to drop a couple more pounds, but I'm in decent shape. I can sprint down the block without my heart exploding.

I will never totally change everything I eat. I'll just eat less crap than I usually do. I will still treat myself when I want to so I can reward myself when I want. Just need to make sure not to reward yourself all the time.

I don't eat healthy food. I do not workout.

Regardless, I am healthy by all forms of testing. (Blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc)

Healthy, not really. At meal times I don't watch what I eat at all, I eat anything I want as much as I want. In between meal snacks I try to stay sensible. Instead of chips/candy I usually go for fruit if in the mood for sweets or maybe a pickle when I want something salty.

I get plenty of exercise through sports, so I don't have a defined workout program. I try to play basketball or racquetball during the winter, golf tennis, baseball or bike riding during the summer. If weather or being too busy gets in the way of doing the sports stuff I have a stationary bike and get my exercise in that way. I just find workouts like lifting/running to be monumentally boring, so I try to get my exercise in other ways.

People under 25 always say this. Then, after 25 when your metabolism slows down, BOOM!!!

Er, well, I've heard from various sources that your metabolism slows down around 2% every 10 years, so I doubt that's a factor...

I used to think that but then I realized it more due to sitting on your ass for 8 hours a day at work and then coming home and doing the same thing except you have a beer and bag of chips in your hands there.

I think it's more just sedentary lifestyle choices as you get older replacing a more active one from when you were younger. Not some sudden drop off in your bodies ability to process calories.

No clue, but I manage the 16 hours a day sitting already and eating bad food.

What's my secret?

You can eat like shit...just not a lot of it and not gain weight. Also as a student are you walking or biking to classes at least 3-4 days a week?

It's not that much walking or biking. A mile a day, maybe.
