Do you eat before a formal dinner?

So you are not tempted to pig out from hunger 😱

I usually do, but I'm not sure if its a good idea or not. I leave in 45minutes for one and was thinking of a chicken salad.

No, but I tie 2 empty sacks to my belt so I can stuff extra food in there to take home.

sometimes a 1/2 sandwich or something just in case I don't like the food they are serving... that way i'm not starving if the food sucks

I like this idea.

I usually grub between the ceremony and reception for weddings, most of the time the >$100/plate filet mignon is actually about 3 or 4 ounces of midrange beef (roughly the end of a piston) and then you end up putting down 15 drinks on a half empty stomach.

Usually a snack, but it all depends on the company. If its a bunch of people I really don't like, I will eat before and I might even take a flask. If its people I like, i don't eat before and I don't need to excuse myself to the bathroom to drink.

that's like drinking before you go to a bar...

its a must if ya dont wanna spend alot of money.

otherwise... if im not paying for it... hell no.. i will eat. someone else is paying (or already paid) it would be rude not to.

yea, so i dont pig out while everyone is watching. sometimes its hard to control myself.

fixed that for ya.. fatty :disgust:

geez how hard can it possibly be to consume a normal, human sized portion of food?!

edit: okay that was mean and I'm sorry.. That really sounds like some kind of eating disorder though, being ashamed to eat in front of others. You shouldn't be embarrassed at the amount of food you're eating.
