I think most people are lying when they say that they do [whatever] just for their own personal [whatever] when in relation to their job/career/stuff-that-usually-isn't-just-for-them(aka non-fap habits).

So, ATOT. Do you go to school, work your job, and all that shit just for yourself or do you do it to try to impress others or some other alternative motive? Maybe the "doing it for themselves" thing is really the whole like satisfaction someone gets from impressing others? I don' really know...

within reason, this. But i enjoy helping people, and i love my girlfriend and my family, so i often don't need to think twice about doing things for them. i work hard in school facilitate my one day being able to comfortably enable and support the family i will have...

As i can say these things

i work to help my sick wife
i work to pay for our house
i work to give my wife everything she wants and needs.

I do this. But i do this for myself as i want to do it. Its not like she asks me to do so. But i want to do it. So i do it for myself as i think this way.

But if i didnt have a wife i would say.

I work cuz im bored
I work to spend cash
I work to make me feel better.

Even having a wife if i think about it. This is the main reason why i work. I wont work for anyone else as that means ur not behind the decision. And who could enjoy work if its not ur decision but ur doing it for someone else.

People who do things for others should think about the reason why they do it. As they will find out they do it for themselfs but they dont want to admit it.


And btw why are people who do things for themselfs egos. Who would work just to make someone else happy. If ur not happy there is no point in it. Guyver gives some drastic examples but still its the truth. If u want something then go for it. If u didnt go for it, it means u didnt really want it.

U should live ur life for urself not for someone else. U can live together with someone else and make ur life hers or his but in the end its still ur live and not someone elses. Its ur decision. And if ur not man enough to buckle up and stand behind ur decisions and say that u do what u do for urself. then ur not being honest to urself.

I work as a ski instructor because I enjoy the job and I make decent money doing it. It's also out of neccessity, I need a job so I can pay for the things I want. This is all for me. I enjoy the work, I get paid to do it, I take the money I earn and buy things for me. I don't support anyone else.... so yup. All for me

While I work for myself, to reach my own goals, I do gain satisfaction from helping others.

I hope to one day have enough resources (time, finances) to give back to others. Even if it's to gain a selfish feeling of satisfaction (i.e. not altruistic), I've still helped others so everybody wins. Philanthropy FTW.
