Do you disable QoS?

I was reading on the Linksys Forums that most people recommend to disable QoS in the router's settings (I haven't noticed this option exists but I will try when I go home).

Now I usually set the QoS reserved bandwidth in Windows to 0% but what about the QoS Packet Scheduler in my connection properties? Shall I disable it too?

I use QoS with my Linksys router for my VOIP and streaming devices, Roku boxes and a WDTV. I set the phone at high, the rest at medium.

QoS should only affect traffic if it's configured to prioritize certain traffic since that's its entire point. Just having that "device" enabled shouldn't affect anything, but Windows isn't exactly known for behaving in a standardized fashion.

Many people believe that disabling the QoS of the Connection on the OS (this as nothing to do with the Router).

There is No functional prove that anything changes whether you leave it checked or Not. You can try to play with it, takes few seconds to check or uncheck and it is Not "scary" to do so.

What application or task are you most concerned with and Qos?
