Do you degauss ? The joy of discovery !

I bought a lease-pulled monitor, Dom 6-01. I had to go super size, a 22" Mitsubishi 2060u NF. The price, probably
too much but my old 15" was on the way out. It looks to be brand new 😀. I hook it up and the colors are really off,
my old Compaq looks much better 🙁 Someone here or in GH had posted this site and I was smart enough to bookmark itText.

After playing with most of the OSD controls and reading the above site on degaussing. I went to default settings,
hit the degauss button, got a light show as it did it's thing. The results are night and day. I felt like Stimpy, happy,
happy, joy, joy.

In the past, stone age, I've only degaussed reel to reel tape decks. Those of you with CRTs, do you degauss manually
or just rely on cold boots to do it, as stated on the site above.

One other thing, the swivel base was tough to change the monitor position. So I used a long tie wrap to clean between the surfaces while blowing on it with canned air. Better but no cee-gar. I have some Judy Butter, it's a plastic compatible grease for MB forks. Using the same tie wrap I lightly lubed the rubbing surfaces, wiping away all excessive
lube after playing with it. Now only light two hand pressure is required 🙂

LOL...

No. My monitor is too old an ghetto to have a degauss button. 🙁

You know what's even more fun? Degauss a monitor in a computer lab. It magnetizes every monitor nearby and they have to degauss. It's a neverending degauss war.

Check out the link I posted above. Even an old diesel mechanic like me can comprehend it.

Edit: That wasn't ment to sound rude. Yes at a cold boot there will be a degauss but not like
a built in one or a hand held mega-magnet.
