...'cuz if you do, plop me on the front page of riceboypage.com ;)

but seriously, I don't think it's rice at all.
loud exhaust, stickers and big wing/body kit yes...
but I think that tints (functional) and rims (better looking than steelies/hubcaps) aren't rice.

i think the only "rice" you can do is hubcaps, body kits, "wings/spoilers", lights, and stickers

anything else might even complement your cars looks

As long as the rims aren't too large or small for the car. Sorry, but 18" rims on a Civic is just stuipid.

Nah man, rims and tint arent rice. Everyone loves nice rims. Nothing wrong with nice rims and dark dark tint. just make sure its done nice and done right. And I agree with the coffeecan exhaust, that crap i stupid. If youre gonna pay hundreds of dollars for exhaust, why not get a nice throaty, power enducing exhaust, as opposed to these stupid ass whiney buzzing sounding exhaust that the rice boys like? When i got exhaust for my truck, it gave me a nice little chunk of added horsepower, along with a nice deep low rumble. Then again its on a 351w V8, not a little lawnmower engine. And yes, stickers are lame too. Unless youve got everything in your car that your stickers notate. Then, I dont see a problem. These stupid kids run around slappin type-r stickers on their damn geo metros and what not, thats rediculous. Now I have K&N and flowmaster stickers on my truck. But theyre small, and I REALLY DO HAVE THESE PARTS. When I get my F-150, its gonna have nice rims, dark window tinting, and big burly exhaust. And I'll be damn proud to say its not a ricer ;)

It depends on the tint and the rims. If you have purple tint with sparkles in it then you might be a ricers :).

wheels and tint are not rice themselves, but calling wheels rims is rice. if the wheels (say a set of 12"s) make the rollout a much smaller length, then that is ghettoizing of some sort, but not rice unless it says something in spanish on the rear window. but that is a different kind of rice than the usual civic/integra/accord rice we see.

Guess it would depend on the rims. I have aftermarket wheels and tint on my car and I think it looks great! A bit on the sporty side but not ricey :)

Emos, 2 things:

1) A German auto is Eurotrash, not Rice (I would have picked a different label, but hey, nobody asked me)

2) Having the RS4 logo on the car when it's not an RS4, well.... that's almost the definition of Rice/Eurotrash.

At least take off the 1.8T if you're going to have the RS4 badge.

That said, most ricers don't have anything to back it up, while it certainly appears as though you have a very fine automobile.

Actually it's the AudiSport logo (which all Audis with the Sport Package have)...I wouldn't be cheesy enough to put an S4 or RS4 sticker on my A4 :) I kept the 1.8T so there's no mistaking the engine I have. As for the grill, I simply liked the 'honeycomb' pattern of the new grill over the venitian blind look of the stock one.

Rims can be rice, depends on the car and the rims. Tin't s not rice unless it's 0% tint (i.e. - black vinyl film)

If it is done tastefully, then no.

I plan on getting my windows tinted on my new Golf TDI and adding either the VW Monte Carlo 17" rims or some 17" ASA EM9 rims.

My bad. For that, then, your car is almost an anti-eurotrash car. Making sure people know what you have.

I never knew about the AudiSport logo... I've only seen that badge on S4's so I thought it was only for S4's.

Man, I love A4's.... I don't like the new ones as much though. I like the old-style rear end... I don't like the A6-style curve-thing.

The ASA EM9's are VERY similar to the BBS RC's shown here. (BBS and ASA are actually the same company)

The VW Monte Carlo's look like this.

I just found some other VW OEM wheels that I like as well. They are called Tocatta's and they can be seen here.

Which do y'all think I should get?

Tint? No, unless maybe it's mirrored....and on 50% of the windshield...
Rims? No, unless they're grossly oversized. +1, +2, etc is cool until the tire diameter exceeds the original size tire diameter. Then you've got a rice skateboard.
Rice is clear lenses, 5" tip (and drive around in the lowest gear possible so it resonates the loudest), and a body kit (preferably not painted to match ;))

i dont mind the rims / body kits or anythign as long as it works with the car. If you have some nice and curvey car like supra, you cant put boxey airdam or somethign like that on it.

On that note, European cars (like that audi) need to have touring rims (lotsa spokes), not those 5 spoke things :)

Go with the ASAs...the BBS RC style looks really good on a GTI.
Is the bolt set on a GTI 5 x 112? If so, take a look at the 17" RS4-style (Celebration) rims that were put on the 2001 A4...Those are beautiful wheels!

It's SIX spokes, thank you very much! ;) I thought about that but I wanted to get a lighter weight rim...the SSR Competitions fit the bill. Plus, have you ever tried cleaning brake dust from of those 1,000+ spoke rims? Not fun! :p

Rice is rice only if it makes it look bad - ie, 18" Konig's on a 83 Corolla is rice - 18" Konigs on an Integra would look nice though

Rice is when your rear window and quarterglass are so dark that your windshield and front door glass look clear in comparison. :|

And, WTF is with those painted windshield (and sometimes rear window) tops?!?

New wheels aren't really rice though. Maybe if they stick outside of the wheel wells...
