This is more of a knowledge building thread for the less knowledgable (such as myself), in essence questions to help my cunfuzlement.
Current Setup:
CPU:
Retail AMD 'Winnie' 3000<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://">http://www.s...tore&page=productspecification&pid=207[/L</a>
running stock standard settings of:
Multiplier: x9
FSB: 200
Clock: 1.8Ghz
Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9-(F2 version bios)
RAM:
2x Corsair Value 512MB (running at 3.0-3-3-8 @ 200mhz, can run: 2.5-3-3-7 @ 166mhz)
I'm wanting to up this machine to have the now standard 2GB RAM required for a decent, cheap gaming machine. The M'board will only accept 4x512 at 166mhz, what would happen if I upped the Multiplier to bring the CPU back up to near 200 again.
Is that how it works - as I've said above: me no have a clue, please help
