I've found myself just grabbing the first carton available. Does anyone have a preference either way?

I always get jumbo eggs. I like the word jumbo and the feeling I get when using it to describe eggs.

I look at the difference in price. If the extra large eggs are less than 10 cents/dozen more, I buy them (happens more often than you would think); otherwise it's just large for me.

I look at the use by date and buy whatever size has the longest shelf/fridge life.

I stick them in the firdge use a couple and throw them out about a month after the expire date.

Rinse and repeat.

Who wants the extra bleach in your system.

What? I hope you're joking. They do NOT bleach eggs.

Your right, eggs are not bleached.

As much as I like eggs and chicken, it took me 3 months to eat chicken or eggs again after a field trip to a poultry plant in culinary school.

I thought Costco eggs are large. Safeway usually has large eggs for $1.99 and I would only grab those if I can't make it to Costco. Rarely do I buy Jumbo. I do like Jumbo, but theyr'e like NEVER on sale at Safeway (Safeway is a freaking rip compared to Costco).

The typical grocery store egg is laid by a leghorn, which is a white egg layer. However, they do wash the eggs in a solution and then coat them with some type of oil so that they dry out slower and keep longer. What's in that egg washing solution, i don't know.

It's a detergent solution with a fairly high ph used to wash any soil off.
