I use dry ice.

Its hard to get locally, so I buy about 10lbs of omaha steaks, roughly alternator size, and its shipped with dry ice...free! They haven't caught onto my little scheme yet. :)

No, I budget for it.

Buying less expensive sliced bread and toilet paper enables me to spend a whole £1 on a bag of ice cubes.

Win?

The freezer makes it for me. If I need to fill a cooler I take out the bin and use all of the ice. Usually fills about 3/4 by the next day.

She even took the ice cube trays out of the freezer! What kind of a sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?

Oh, I think they're probably pretty happy with the arrangement.

Great movie.

OP: Are automatic ice makers not common in the UK?

Buying frozen water.

I know, it?s almost as absurd as buying bottled water.

Agreed and I don't buy that either. I do however buy ice once and a while when I am asked to bring it to a party. I dont mind doing that cause I like my soda etc really cold.

They?re uncommon. I can?t remember the last time I saw one, if I?m honest.

I'm lazy.

So going to the store, getting the ice, carrying it to the cashier, paying for it, bringing it home, and then putting it in your freezer is easier than filling a plastic ice cube tray?

Logic fail.

you are at the store to buy groceries, some are already frozen. buying a bag of ice is actually easier than the other stuff, because the cashier will have the bagger go get it for ya. once youre home, carry it with the frozen corn dogs and put them both in the freezer at the same time. not much difficulty there.

that said, i rarely use ice. my freezer has an ice maker that isnt hooked up. i have ice trays that have the same cubes from 5 years ago. when i do use ice, it will be out of the bag i bought at a previous store trip and isnt gone yet. costs me 1.29 and isnt a hassle to deal with.

If LG or Samsung had a fridge with an ice maker that could make these pellets I would pay whatever it costs :D

Crushed & cubes both suck ass.

oh aint that the truth! i love those ice pellets in a soda. makes it fun to drink. i also have no idea why

i rarely use it as well, but when working outside its nice to grab a big 32oz cup of ice and water or tea to cool off with. of course i tend to work on my yard and vehicles in the summer more than the winter, and being on the surface of the sun here in az a cold drink is a good thing. most of the time i drink water from the faucet with no ice, as well as "iced tea" out of the jug with no ice as well. sodas are just fine without ice as well. i go thru a bag of ice in maybe 4 months or so.

Yeah, you guys treat ice like is some kind of scarce natural resource or something.

Since I cut down on sodas (at my dentist's urgent pleas), I mostly drink ice water at home. I could easily go through a tray per night if I didn't have an automatic maker/dispenser.

Interesting. I wonder if it is because you guys have smaller fridges. Mine is a side-by-side with like 25ft^3 of space.

Homemade icecubes with tray and Brita filtered water...same for my bottle water. I bought some 1L bottles and refill them with tap water that filtered by 2L Brita filter. Money savings FTW.
