do you bring empty starbucks bag for a free coffee?

if so, how it go? just bring the bag? when the coffee is gone and you just bring it for a free coffee? no need to peel the promotion sticker off? the clerk will peel it off themselves and register it? and wala!? you get the free coffee?

Lean over the counter with a grocery bag and fill it with free coffee?

One with holes in the bottom then run out of there leaving a trail of coffee for the police to follow.

i don't think think they do this anymore. They used to give you a free coffee if you brought in an empty bag of sbucks coffee for recycling. you could probably bring it in anyway and they'll just do it for you to be nice

hmmmm seems like no one drinks starbucks coffee here.

when you buy starbucks 12 oz bag at grocery store theres this sticker on it that says bring the bag to a starbucks coffee when it is empty to get a free cup of coffee.

yes they still doing this.

ive been to several starbucks and after you hand them the bag asking for a free coffee, they just give it to you straight up. some clerk may ask dark or medium roast. most just give you pike aka medium roast as default anyway not sure if pike and medium roast is the same thing.

you will usually see them peel off the sticker in front of you and register the code to the register. most location, clerk dont even do it.... they just grab the bag as you hand it to them and and just pour you a nice tall cup of coffee. simple. quick and easy. most clerk are cool.

however..... one time with this new face clerk..... took like 5 minutes to figure what they must do. they dont know crap! wait a moment sir well figure out the promotional sticker! then bam! sorry sir you have to peel it off and register the code on the internet and come back for a free coffee. the code must be register.

i was like..... what??? many time i bring bag and i get free coffee. why not this time? they said oh we might not know before that the code must be register first from customers. i didnt argue i just say oh ok then. i go other location or even same location with different clerk and i get free coffee with no problem.

bs! i mean......... they may be right about customers need to register the code to the internet first. if the scenario is true...... then its all about human-satisfaction service. because in other locations and other clerks...... i see them peel it off for you and register it on their register device for you! for the customer! heck some clerk even toss the bag somewhere and pour coffee on cup for you! fast and simple!

all about individual employee.... worker..... some just go by the rules. some makes customer comes first. some are cool some are crap.

so no one here does this? i just want to know if its only me that have this bs experience with this rare bs encounter. most time theres no problem. just hand it to them and wala! you get free coffee. all about the clerks. this 18, 19 year old girl at this location seems to be the big the boss of the store.... whenever i get her on counter she always so simple and easy. get coffee within seconds. she knows her stuff and many older employee seems to ask her what to do. older employee dont know what to do with the bag and just stand there analysing the bag... and finally ask the young girl what to do and you get free coffee instantly! next time this older employee see me hand him a bag and quickly hand me a free coffee right away.

its not the company, the store, the brand.... all about invidual employee. not just coffee shops. all other stuff too. you hire a good worker.... you get good bussiness and praise from customers.

Yes, 18 or 19 year old girls are easy.
Now get down to business!

In all seriousness, if you talk to them the way you type to us, they are probably doing the same thing we are which is thinking "What the fuck is this guy trying to say? Fill this bag with free coffee?"

More info:
It has to be at a regular "franchised" owned Starbucks (not a "licensed" Starbucks i.e. Target and or a Barnes & Noble store, apparently there is a legal difference)...but the coffee bag must have the "free cup of coffee" printed on the bag.

Jesus, this ended 10/16/2012.

wow thats alot of story like mine on there. refuse to give customer free coffee after bringing the empty bag to them.

no it does not end yet. my latest starbuck bag is bought on 2014 which is like a month ago at walmart and it still has the promotion sticker on it that says "empty bag get free coffee"

not just walmart that still has the promotional sticker on it. many stores still has it right now.

i even go to a different local starbucks and they still give it to me. i have like 4 locations that i go to for a free coffee when i hand them the empty bag of promotional sticker still intact.

i have never hand empty bag to a starbuck stands or starbucks inside a grocery store.... only the starbuck store itself.

as i read many people stories..... seems that starbucks is so un-organize with their promotional crap. they need to get their butt up the gutter and be more organize. and they need to inform their branch workers of how to deal with the promotional free coffee of how it is done. if the promotion ends on 2012.... would would stores still carry the sticker? it might be jst starbucks head quater is not organize.

once again i can still get free coffee but only just one encounter that refuse me. go right now and can get free coffee. but if you see new face clerk you might not get it.

yeah the girl is pretty good looking.

good chance to get free coffee is always go at same shift of hour you go because of the same clerk you see. some clerk even remembers you and be your friend. hot clerk is also a bonus to interact with.

overall i prefer tullys when it comes to coffee chains. peetes taste too burnt.

but best french roast is gevelia. i dont think it has its own stores around here though. all other roast of gevelia taste too earthy and sour.
