I do believe that if you do good things people notice it, and in turn they treat you better.

No.

If I hit someone because that person did something to deserve the punch, why should I be punished? Karma means that the universe hates us

to say karma exists is basically saying there is some kind if magical invisible force that sits around all day trying to balance some type of magical invisible scale. that's a lot magic and invisibilty you know.

No, saying that karma exists is simply believing in a greater order existence than you do, and no more preposterous than you implicitly claiming that what your pea-brain percieves and can wrap itself around is the end all and be all of existence.

While a belief in karma is to me, a blind faith, I do feel that it meshes with the newtonian law of action and reaction, and if anything sits closer to "logic" than western notions of an old man in the sky.

If there is such a thing as Karma, my wife's cousin apparently built up a butt-load worth of bad karma from a previous life.

- She's been hit by a car and had her leg broken in two places. Plus, the hospital tried to kick her out before she was ready to go.
- She had her debit card stolen and her checking account run $800 into the red
- She found out the guy she's been seeing since last September married another girl last November just before the girl went overseas in the military

There's alot more but that is just the most interesting stuff to happen in last couple of years. Surprisingly, she doesn't have a driver's license. I was joking with my wife that that's probably a good thing because with her apparently bad Karma, she's likely to have a bus tip over on to her while driving.

How's this for Karma?

I wrote my wife hit a car in this thread.

Now my other car starts overheating and its going to cost me a bundle to get it fixed. Not to mention when I get my MDX bad my right side speakers (where the damage was) appear to be blown (major bass distortion).

Edit: And also how's this for irony. It's my birthday today and my wife knows I want an MP3 player so she buys me a Rio Karma. :)
