Do you believe in ghosts? (POLL)

I had that once; very strange sensation. I had recently moved into a very old apt(1820), and I was hoping the experience was the result of a ghost. No such luck. It never happened again, and I saw no other indications of anything that couldn't be explained. I did have voices come through my speaker phone, but that was just truckers, and bad shielding, or something like that. I clipped the wires, and stopped that nonsense :^D

Seems to be a pretty common thing for my friend. His worst episode was when he felt wide awake, but there were super tall beings standing around his bed. He said that his bed sheets were also flying all over the place as if there was a hurricane blowing underneath them. Freaking weird.

As a child it's easy to get riled up about the possibility.

Since that time has passed I have to firmly vote no. I'll go with the other skeptic who said it might be "something" but most likely not dead people's spirits. That we hallucinate is a very good and plausible explanation. Those "videos" of it, IMO, are all hoaxes.

When the best people can some up with are vague split second shadows, you're just seeing !@#$. Let me know when ghosts cause something material to happen. Not the wind blowing over your trash can either.

I'm not suggesting that it's a problem that needs to be corrected, just observing that anecdotal evidence is an exceptionally low grade of support for a claim.

Well...I do view it as a problem. 😛

Yeah...sleep paralysis is a B. A buddy of mine has had a few pretty scary episodes.

The memory of it persists...still makes it a bit difficult to fall asleep, and I'm already in the 30-60 minute territory for time to finally get to sleep.

That would be amazing. I'd love to have that happen to me. When I had it, I was just watching my girlfriend make dinner, but couldn't move. It felt like someone was pushing down on my chest.

I've had it a few times. Everything around me is blurry and every attempt to move (even keep my eyes open) is a massive struggle. It usually goes on for a a couple minutes before I either fall back asleep or finally fully rouse myself. Never had dark shadows around me or anything. When it happened it rooms with people in them (taking a nap in college), I was always able to tell it was my roommates.

I tried this topic a while back Geo and it was poorly received, so I apologize for the story being short. I think I saw a ghost, personally.

I woke up late at night while staying at a friend's house in my early teens. I saw a silhouetted figure walk in front of two windows that let light shine into the room from a utility light. The figure appeared to be small and short, which made me think that the figure was inside the room and not outside, because the windows were close to the floor but the wall outside continued down for another five feet. It was completely silent, and no doors opened or closed. No one else was a awake. At the time I was really startled and was afraid the next thing I heard was it trying to talk to me. It didn't though.
