do you believe in fortune telling?

I'm not talking about the crystal ball or tarot cards type of thing. I"m talking about where they readyour palm, or analyze you by looking at your features, such as your face.

From what my brother and what my dad said, the fortune tellers were pretty accurate about their past, i.e, saying how many siblings and what type of childhood they had. Then ofcourse, they would give suggestions and tell them what the future holds for them.

I haven't been to a fortune teller, but from what my multiple friends say(they *supposedly* know how to read palm), they all said the same thing, even though they dont know eachother. they say that I have a long career line, and will say that it will flourish in the later stages of my life........

most of the time, i think that horoscopes and the like are just guessing, but i have been to a few pshyics that have been really accurate! it gave me the chills when they said the stuff they said.
i do believe certain people are gifted in that way, the hard part is finding a good one. nevertheless, i never put too much stock into what they said, i just held it on the back burner to see if it really happened.

my ma got a reading done by one at this party a while ago. Scared her to tears. Fvscking lady was so "accurate"... stirred up the whole family, I guess the reader knew about my dead grandma and my newborn neice and this time when my grandma was picking apples... blabla... Really made my ma sad/miss her mother, she cried about it off and on for a while afterward. Sob should have left her alone.


Well, I guess the lady was more of a "psychic" than a palm reader.


Edit: To answer the OP, I don't really believe in fortune telling. I think it says something when you find the people at the carnival next to the 2Pac licence plate air-brusher.

Psychics are frauds. C'mon people, no one can know the past or tell the future. It's called Cold Reading. If someone is willing to accept what's being told, they'll get an accurate "reading". With Cold Reading, someone asks general questions and slowly narrows the questions down based on the person's responses.

i studied tarot for a while (i made a tarot reading php page), its really just a representation of the spectrum of experiences (birth through death and beyond depending on who you ask). The order of the experiences is always different and the results are always different, i found its mostly about viewing your situation from different angles, attititudes and timeframes. ive gotten alot of great feedback from it though from people.

palmistry and such are different, im sure they have some metaphysical basis but seems mostly BS to me. its not that hard to foretell the future though, just analyze the potentials and guesstimate the future actuals. as for psychism well some people do seemed to be more 'tapped in' than others.
