No, I don't accept it. The punishment is far too painless (even if there is suffocation) to be used on Saddam.

I believe it's still an option here in Washington. We don't sentence people to death very often though.

If I had to choose which death penalty to take, I'd probably go for hanging. Lethal injection just seems so cliche nowadays.

If you do it correctly, it snaps their neck and there should be little pain with almost instant death.

Well I think he should just get what hes' done to some of his victims. You know, like when he stuck dissidents through wood chippers feet first.... ;)

I'm sure someone will videotape it when it happens. I wonder how long he'll last?
You-Tube will be flooded with hits when that video shows up.

Considering what he did to those 100's of thousands, I think he's getting off easy.

I believe death to be an acceptable form of the death penalty. How it is accomplished does not bother me. We put more thought into how to kill these monsters humanely than they ever did to their victims.

IMHO, the death penalty is never acceptable. The death of Saddam can never vindicate any crime he has ever committed, by any means.

I am indifferent on the issue. While I do think the death penalty is necessary and a valid source of punishment. I'm not sure if hanging is a good option. I think only a hand-full of people would have committed a crime to the degree of being candidates for this type of punishment.

Depends on what the person did.

If the person hung someone else or killed someone else in a painful manner (IE, not a quick painless death) then I don't have anything against it.

If done properly, death by hanging is quick and painless.

Traditionally, hanging has always been reserved as the method of execution for thieves and petty criminals, and considered a very ignominious way to die. Therefore, I fully agree with the verdict against Saddam, and hope that the wheels of justice spin quickly to carry out his sentence.

Nope. Give them painless deaths. It's humane. If you're going to kill them, you might as well kill him with some decency. If the person is like Sadaam and should be punished millions of times over, let's not sink down to his level and perform inhumane acts against him.

Kill him. But please, don't tell me a bullet to the head will cost millions of taxpayer dollars like in the US. I find it great that we make death such an easy thing in the US but when it costs so much to execute a prisoner, it's just ridiculous.

Report: Hundreds of WMDs Found in Iraq

Thursday, June 22, 2006

WASHINGTON ? The United States has found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq since 2003, and more weapons of mass destruction are likely to be uncovered, two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday.

"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.

Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."

But yeah if you get sentanced to death, I could really give a damn about how cruel it is. You know he didn't really care when he gassed the Kurds. Those are the people who deserved better.

You think more so than lethal injection?

Seems like thats the most humane IMO.

Like putting down a pet.
