Do you believe dreams can hint towards your future?

I don't believe this or didn't. I never have dreams I can remember, but last week I had one about my old best friend in which I had not seen in years(like 3-4). The very next day my wife was at the mall and she runs into him and his wife, and we live in different states! I thought this was so strange yet cool. I hope my dream from a few nights ago doesn't have any meaning, it was about spiders but mainly these certain ones that had this huge fat body(almost like a ball, orange or red I believe) and tiny legs O_O

have you ever had a dream that came true or similar to mine?

same here. everyone once in awhile i get them. i call mine future dreams, since the re-occurrence can happen within a week, to the longest after a few years. the bad dreams are the ones i always dread to think will happen.

My brain works out problems in my sleep. So my dreams don't predict the future as much as I figure out what is likely to happen to me. I've had dreams that have solved video game puzzles, written code for projects, and given me advice on if I should buy or sell stocks. I trust my dreams because they are an extension of me.

I've written papers in my dreams before. When I woke up and started typing my fingers couldn't keep up with the torrent of writing.

No. I believe that there are so many variables in both waking life and dreams and the human mind is so good at remembering and making connections between these that it is easy to make the error of thinking that there is some greater-than-coincidence relationship between happenings in dreams and waking life.

It's inconsistent, and a lot of times I've got crazy ass dreams that defy the laws of common logic so they wouldn't work out in real life, but it's happened to me before. There have been numerous occasions where I've dreamt of a specific place then seen it later on. That really trips me out.

It's likely you have a dream with that person not infrequently but it was notable because the experience was reinforced by your wife encountering them.

i think dreams are things that really happen in a parallel universe and the unconscious is the only way they can be communicated to our universe... :D

i disagree, i believe dreams are snippets of our previous future, before the large hadron collider had a massive destructive meltdown. unrealistic dreams are just future dreams that we have memory corruption of. :p

my father had no interest at the time to do this, but he had a dream and there was a white room with a target, in the middle was the word Lawyer and a voice said go for your target. 27 years of experience later, I think it true :)

at least thats the story he said is why he became one

I would say that if you are surprised by your dreams coming true that you are not very self perceptive and the dreams make things more obvious to you.

i have had dreams that several months later happen exactly as the dream occurred - even conversations (including what I spoke in the conversation). Its really weird right as you are reliving the dream and recall everything you remembered about it. What really freaked me out is I said exactly the same things as I did in the dream, like I was predestined to do it.

I hope not. I've been having lots of dreams these past years about the world ending.

/looks at the past 8 years.

Oh. :(

EDIT: But in all seriousness. I don't really believe in future prophecies from dreams. I believe the information you collect everyday eventually outputs somehow in your subconscious. So your ears pick up some commercial or something in another room for a movie you haven't seen in 5 years. You go to sleep and wake up and have a feeling of wanting to see that movie and it comes on.

Aren't dreams an organization of your thoughts throughout the day? I heard that from somewhere.

Dreams are sweet. I wish I could be awake while I dream. I know some people that can do that, and then they have fun in their dreams, i.e. they know they are dreaming.

That would be cool.

I want somebody to invent a way to record, store and play back dreams. Then I could show everybody how cool I am in my dreams. :(

Yes. My astrologer said so when I was on the phone with her, at my chiropractor's office. Where I stopped on my way to church.

I had a dream where a voice spoke to me.

pretty much said to get my shit together and quit fooling around because he wasn't going to be there to get my out of trouble all the time.

This was Lucid dream by the way.

Well I didn't get my shit together and I didn't stop fooling around. i got into some serious shit.

Honestly should have listened to the voice...

Lets hope not, being attacked by lesbian zombies who all look like my mother in law is a fate worse than death.
