OP your post reminds me of a chapter in a book called "BANG," by Roosh V.

We'd be silly not to think that human females are driven by the same instincts as almost every other creature. Females are drawn to Alphas, Alpha wins the female. So much can be said, geez what a topic.

BANG is a great read. Author strongly urges those who are not desirable (overweight, etc) to work on their game, to become as much an alpha as possible. In seeking a partner, women want alpha, but settle for beta if they have to due to looks, age, or other circumstances.
