I get so many solicitors calling me, that if I don't recognize an outside call I let it go to voice mail everytime. If it's important they'll leave a message and then I'll decide if I call them back or not.

I can definitely see not answering your cell phone at work but, not answering a work line? I'd fire their ass on the spot.

Can't imagine purposely not answering the phone. During the day we're multiple people and all lines are shared so if you don't answer someone else will, but typically we tend to take our fair share.

For after hours shifts then you pretty much have to answer it. Though, if I'm in the bathroom I let it ring, they can call back.

I don't even know the number of my desk phone, so if it rings, it isn't for me.

I'll usually answer the phone, if anything to avoid seeing the blinking red light. When I come into the office and there's a blinking red light though, I'll put off checking my VM for as long as possible. It's retarded, but I hate talking on the phone and dealing with VM. I tell everyone I work with email is the best way to get a hold of me, which is def. true.

So like, ATOT's entire human interaction is only with other ATOT nerds? That's kind of sad.
