Do you answer calls that say "unknown name/number" on your caller ID?

Problem is, when my dad calls from work (he works for Motorola, not a telemarketing company), it says unknown. So I have to.

It isn't about being afraid. it is about being inconvenienced. I work all day and do not want to come home and have whatever i am doing interrupted.

Of course i hate the phone anyway, and the only people that call me, their numbers show up. Soooo...
Oh, the irony of someone who posts 30 days a day on ATOT being worried about their time or being incovenienced. 😛
When do you guys get off your high horse about post count? The argument is old and tired.

My posts mainly come while I'm at work.
LOL... just givin' ya a hard time 🙂

No. If it says unknown number, blocked number, number out of range or if its an 800 number I won't answer the phone. Everyday the same telemarketer calls up my house with the same 800-247-8682 number when the answering machine picks up he/she they hang up, they call my house 2, 3, 5 times a day. I signed up for that Do Not Call list but I guess It hasn't gone into effect.

i do not have caller ID
' i use the answering machine,if the voice is one i do not know, i will ususally not pickup the phone;

Last night/this morn,i got a wrong number call,about 1:30 am,
the Lady said;"I am at the hospital,Please call Uncle,XYZ$%,and have him come get me.

I picked up the phone, and Politely said, I am sorry miss you got a wrong number, try again,Please.

For that type of a "wrong number" call I will answer the phone.

Can we get off moms? I just got off yours. 😉

i pick it up. Most times its a client. If it's a telemarketer than I just waste their time asking completely retarded questions (I can lower my APR to 14%?!?!!? wow... so you are saying that I should refinance my morgage with my credit card right? Cool!)

I pick it up, sometimes. I have a new game with the telemarketers.

TM: Hi. Is xxxx there?
Me: Yea, sure. Hang on.

... one minute later

Me: Can I tell him who's calling?
TM: Yea, this is bla bla bla...
Me: Ok. Hang on.

... one minute later, if the TM is still on the phone

Me: He's almost done. He was on the other phone ordering some stuff.
TM: Ok.

... one minute later

Me: He said to hold. He's just has to give his credit card number.

... one minute later

You get the picture.
