My mother in law passed away 2 days ago and wifey left her cell on the desk next to me. It's rang a few times.

I'm thinking theres no way in hell Im answering that phone and telling someone shes passed away.

Would you?

Maybe you or somebody better should set her voicemail up so people know? Give them info to the service if it hasn't happened yet.

Yes. I'm not afraid of confronting reality, even if it's not pleasant. People need to find out somehow.

"???? ?? ??? ????? ?????? ??????????, ???? ??????? ?? ??? ???? ???", said the dead mans friend on the cell phone. I said "???? ?? ??? ????? ?????? ??????????, ???? ??????? ?? ??? ???? ???!" and he just hung up. :(

I once got a call from someone's cell phone who had died 12 hours earlier. Of course, it was somebody else but it made me wonder for a few seconds.

Then have somebody else change the voicemail. Nobody needs to talk to anybody that way

You're not a stranger. You're a family member. And the instant you pick up the phone, you're no longer a stranger to the person calling. Your mother-in-law would probably appreciate you handling it like a man.
