I hope you dont take this the wrong way, but I am strange if I feel hungry two hours after a meal ?

I go gym twice a week, walk everywhere because I'm a student , I try to keep to the 2000 cal's a day, im 6ft, about 12 stone ( 160 pounds ).

I'm always hungry, is this the body telling me it needs food or it just wants food ?

Why 2000 calories per day? What do you do in the gym, and what are your goals?

I eat about every 2-3 hours, regardless of whether I'm hungry or not. My food intake is based on a set number of calories per day.

High metabolism? Aslong as you're not putting on weight its probably fine... I have a big appetite, I go gym once a week and go track once a week, sometimes i cycle places but otherwise drive and i'm always picking at stuff i could have 5 meals a day easy if i wanted..

I eat whenever I'm hungry, for the most part. This ends up being 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and snacks whenever I am hungry. I probably eat between 2500 and 3000 calories a day. I'm ~6ft 4 and ~165 and either run or bike 6 days a week.

My advice is that if you are hungry and don't seem to gain weight, eat when you are hungry. There's no sense in denying your body the food it needs unless you are trying to lose weight or something.

If you want increased muscle definition, you are probably going to have to take a more rigorous approach to your training and diet.

If you are just trying to prevent yourself from gaining any fat, then just track your weight each morning and use the mirror. If you don't see any negative changes, then don't worry about it.

In any case, Fitday is an excellent resource for tracking what you eat every day.

I dont know, maybe Im brainwashed by all this " be good to yourself , only eat this etc " . As a kid I didnt care and was ok...

Does heavy lfiting of weights speed up your metabolisim as much as cardio, say running >?

It will if you actually build new muscle as a result of the weightlifting, although given that you are only eating 2000 calories per day I doubt you would be building any new muscle.

Circuit training will actually speed it up quite a bit more than long duration, low intensity cardio.
