When I was in Florida with my wife and son visiting my Mom last year we made turkey sandwiches for the flight back home. They were mighty tasty. Way better than airline food.
I've seen that happen. This one bunch must've smuggled half of a buffet line onto the plane. The whole thing smelled like subs and chili for the entire trip. After the first half minute or so, any persistent smell gets to be very annoying.
why? Unless it's a bottle of HIGH EXPLOSIVES... err... water - food is fine to bring with you.
I've flown Southwest to not far places with no long distance flights so haven't eaten on those a they don't serve food on hour long flights. When I flew from LA to DC it was a redeye so didn't eat then either. I've never eaten a full meal on a flight ever.
Who flies regular economy on flights over 3 hours?
Liquids of any kind over 3.4oz are NOT permitted, solid food is fine though,
I never tried to bring food through TSA. I just assumed they would frown upon it. Do you know how many people I could kill with my fish sandwich? Thousands, at the very least!

Good luck trying to take food on a flight in the U.S.
When I flew from Arizona to LA this past March I had a half eaten sub sandwich on my carry on bag. Was on the very top of everything. Ate it after I landed.
