I do.Comon.Your HD channels are good, but you need an expensive set to get then, expensive receiver.Your old channels look like crap on your new set. There is no standar yet with this HD-DVD Blue Ray war( WHAT WAR ANYWAY??? ).

Im sure they said the same thing about DVD when it first came out and was bloody expensive.

Besides, in a few years, you wont even have a choice.

And why do people keep saying old channels look like crap on HD sets? They only look worse cause the sets are so clear it brings out the flaws, and youve got HD to compare them to now...

Look.Fow now how many years this HD vs Blue ray war is continuing? 2 years now?? And both product havent been release yet...

try to explain a high-end video card to her too

technology is always moving foward. you can't seriously think we'll be stuck with the current TV standards forever?

TBH, I don't see what the big deal is about. I just haven't seen the difference yet. I'm very unhappy that some stupid politician somewhere decided all TVs need to be HDTVs though. I'm thinking when that happens, I won't have a TV anymore. Nothin good on anyway.

..average tv viewer doesn't care and is upset their tv will be only good for watching jelly beans very soon..when the FuCC makes broadcasters give up existing spectrum.

i don't think it will go away as its supposedly an improvement.
i do think its overhyped and overpriced right now though.

Get a job hippie!

Mostly because you're looking at SD on a much larger display than your old 27" blurry tube TV. The picture was just as bad, you just couldn't see it as clearly.

So what. For now you have HD dish or cable, and Xbox360. By the end of the year you'll have PS3 and blu-ray.

Blu-ray will win because HD-DVD will still be an optional, external add-on for Xbox360 that costs almost as much as a PS3.

Why would they stop broadcasting LD content in a few years? Why? over 75% of the planet wont be able to afford HD and will want to stick with they old technology.Do you really think they will pull the plug on LD content?

Cmon.Think about it. 70% of the people still can't fvckin understand why 4:3 content is not good compare to widescreen content( i hate the two black bar is my favorite comment..)

Same comment I saw in 1961 about color TV. Only had Bonanza then and many thought it was just a temporary thing. Good luck with that!

Today's HD will be tomorrow's LD.

LOL, I'm so behind the times with the HD stuff. I'm getting my first LCD screen next week (2005FPW), my CRT is 8 years old, my TV in my room is like ~25 years old, and ~23", my TV in the living room is a ~30" 10 year old standard TV, the TV in my brother's room is a 13" Sharp TV. 😛

You're kidding me, wow that's an awesome price.

A few months ago it was $1899 or $1749 "on sale".

I love my Westinghouse 32" LCD for $809 sure it can't do 1080p but $809 OTD 🙂
