I'm wondering how many people add themselves to their own AIM or AOL buddy list. lol. I've seen a few people do it, so I decided to make a poll. lol

And the point to that would be?

"Gee, I wonder if I'm online right now." *checking* "Yep!"

See if your "fake" away note icon is on or not. Before I knew that I don't know why I did it. I just did. I'm a bit weird though, or so my friends say, haha.

I do it. It makes it easier to see how your away messages and profiles actually appear to everyone else. And I like to talk to myself.

Um... wouldn't you know if you're online or not seeing as how you're the one using your computer? I don't get why you'd need to be on your own list.

I didn't mention that I do it in case someone goes on under my own name. Oh wait. That makes no sense. Crap, I don't really have a good reason then.

Yup. Also, you can check your warning level that way.

the thing i noticed is if you put ur away message on and just leave ur buddy list open...then come back 30 min later...you can't see yourself as being idle. anyone ever notice that?

Well, thanks to you all, I just added myself to my list. But MSN messenger won't let me talk to myself. :(

To see if I'm hiding or not and to check how my away messages and profile looks to other people. Also, when my Cable connection "burps," I send myself an IM to see if I'm still connected ;)

And finally, late at night when I'm doing a paper or something, it always feels better seeing at least one name on my buddy list...

I do it so I can see how long I've been signed on. I don't have a good reason for wanting to know this, I just do.........

It's a good way to see you away message note as somebody had said...also to see if your buddy icon is showing up (I tend to change my buddy icon frequently, so it comes in handy.

<< hmmm..no, I never get so confused that I don't remember if I'm logged on or not :D >>

Oh, I was drunk enough last night, it was probably questionable whether I would remember or not. Highly questionable. But then again, of the three friends I was drinking with, I was the one who didnt puke and had to take care of the others (we were playing beer drinking games, only we didnt have beer... but we did have rum, and we didnt dilute the rum).

Well, honestly, I had never even thought of it, but now that I read it, being the conformist that I am, I decided to go ahead and add myself. It would be fun if I didnt repeat everything I said.
