if you see someone asking a question which to you is just plain dumb but to them, well, they just don't know any better? do you just laugh in their face, or do you try to help them out (especailly if they are trying to further their knowledge in such matters) because you remember at one point in time, you were actually in their shoes?

Regardless of my knowledge on the subject, I speak my mind, I may be right, I may be wrong, but I'm not going to act like someone I a not :)

Me sometimes I speak my mind and tell them they are a complete idiot, and other times I help them. Depends which side of the bed I wake up on (and if the person is nice to me, and the time).

No. That was only 2 years ago. I'm not much different now than I was then...trust me.

If they're trying, or interested, I'll help 'em out.

Unless, of course, I'm better than them.

I usually try to help, but sometimes (like when someone INSISTS they're doing things the "right" way and it's clearly wrong and stupid) they deserve it.

All those many years ago, I recall reading a great deal, and independently absorbing knowledge through a more hands on experience.

I personally find a significant portion of newer users today are seeking a spoon feeding, and do not put forth the effort to learn. For those who do not adhere to such behavior, I tend to offer any assistance I can.
