Do women have more boring lives than men?

So many major outlets in culture are male oriented and male dominated, to the point where it seems as if in general guys have more things to do and have more fun in life. 🙂 For example, such intense pleasure driven activities as playing and watching sports, working with technology of all kinds, playing video games, going to bars, exploring/traveling, working on cars, all seem to be heavily favored by the masculine gender whereas it's a comparatively smaller number of activities like shopping, cooking, child raising, and chatting that are usually relegated to the feminine domain. Disgregarding those activities like watching tv, socializing, reading, going out, etc, which are often participated in equally by both genders, does the seeming predominance of sociocultural masulinity in fact mean that it's more exciting, more interesting, to be a guy than a gal?

We can have sex pretty much anytime we like🙂

now what were you saying about cultural outlets?😛

yeah, but have you ever heard yourself talk? or any other woman for that matter?

lesbians are your saving grace

Lol, serious answers, yes the producing and rearing of children is still pretty much a woman's game but it isn't at all limiting like you might think.Women now are educated, they hold good jobs, they travel and have interests just as men do.I don't think my life has been limited or "boring" at all.

Im sorry, but whoever lowers themselves to watching trading spaces... or weekly dawson's creek episodes... is boring... Not all women, but enough.

ill add American Idol and anything on MTV to that list also Bill

Men and women are different animals, with different concepts of enjoyment. Many women are bored to tears by action/sci-fi movies and football, whereas most guys hate to go shopping (unless it's for big screen tv's), and would rather gnaw their own feet off than watch something on the Lifetime cable channel. Boredom, a subjective quality, is hard to objectively measure, so hard data on this would be intuitively hard to come by.

I don't watch much TV but I daresay that those women you are describing wouldn't consider this forum
their cup of tea.Men and women are just different sometimes, that's not a bad thing.

i don't think this implies anything other than that men either have

a.) more varied taste among the gender
or
b.) the need for more sources of entertainment than women

you have to remember that "boring" is subjective"

Very interesting thought. I think entertainment is a highly individualized thing, but I'll conclude this. There is more entertainment manufactured for men because men are entertained by simpler things that are more easily manufactured. I've spent hours sitting and being bored while my bf and his friends played video games. Now, there's something that could be constructed that held their attention. A conversation could hold my attention that long, but you can't manufacture that. So guys are just entertained by more produceable things, I think, and therefore there seems to be more entertainment out there for them.
