Is it very typical for wireless PCI cards to die?
I have a wireless 54 PCI card (based on RT2500) that worked great for about a month. 4-5 bars full speed.
This last week, however, it's started to be anywhere between 1-2 bars and very slow speed. Sometimes dropping the connection entirely. Nothing has changed. The card is at the same location in a desktop computer and the router is at the same location as well.
I moved the router over to the computer it's in to test if it's a range issue or anything. Literally 5 feet away it only gets 3 bars. When I first got it at around 40 feet through 2 walls it was getting 4-5 bars.
Could the card possibly have "half died" or something? Or is there some other issue I could be overlooking?
