Do Win98 drivers work in WinXP?

Ive heard of a feature that allows WinXP to use win98 drivers, but im not sure if thats possible. My friend just ordered a Guillemont Maxi ISIS soundcard, but it doesn't have Win2k drivers (there are references to them, but we havent found them yet). Is it possible to use the Win98 drivers for it if he installs winXP? (he is currently running w2k)? Thanks

i'm not sure if it's possible for that specific hardware, but i HAVE heard of rare circumstances where win98 / NT4 drivers work for win2k. if any work, i would guess that NT4 drivers have a better chance. if you're desperate, it won't do any harm to at least try them.

The Win98 drivers may work on the condition that they are WDM and not VXD drivers.

It might work 'okay' if you have absolutely no opther option, but I wouldnt recommend it and don' be surprised if you lose out on many features of the card.

I'd try NT4 drivers before 98 drivers if possible.
