the left monitor is a P60 running tcpdump not stop and displays network traffic for my amusement. The 2nd one is a P150 with TV-tuner card. The one on the right is my main beast and it is running FreeBSD (but the desktop is win98 because I was playing games). This is all underneath my bunk bed 🙂

hey DaZ, how did you get your start button to be a blue bubble like that? windowblinds? not the xbox theme but the bottom one.

Its a basic Windows XP theme.. from ThemeXP.. Windows XP by default wont let you use these themes.. *I think* they want you to have XP Plus! installed to run them, though I've never tried..

There are two other ways to do it however... First and boring way IMO, is.. Style XP ($20 shareware, expires in 30days).

The other option is via a patch that modifies a WindowsXP system file that controls themes, called uxtheme.dll. You simply run the 200k setup file, reboot, and themes should work flawlessly, no need for a third party program wasting resources.

I used the UXTHEME.dll patch on two computers and it works perfectly..

After you run it, follow the instructions in the little dialogue box before clicking any buttons.. (XP will try to tell you something has be replaced and it needs to fix itself, ignore it.. its safe).
