the damn things are 90% identical most of the time. do we really need a console ME2 thread and a PC ME2 thread? two identical fallout threads? borderlands, CoD, ect ect?

it would make more sense to have a generic gaming forum and a 'PC gaming is not/is dying' forum, because that's the extent of the 'exclusive' threads in the PC forum.

This is horrible, this idea. I would rather have a couple of "PC Gaming is dying" threads in PCG than the inevitable bashing and fighting that would occur on a regular basis if the forums were put back together.

Besides, there are plenty of things exclusive to PCG if you go through there and look.

In console gaming we already have the constant Xbox/PS3 arguments (hi Dari!) and the occasional PC gamer who gets lost and whines about console controllers. Combining the forums would make it worse! With the forums separated, we console gamers don't have to hear all of the whining about DRM, and PC gamers don't have to hear all of the whining about paid DLC.

As much as we need complaints like this thread? You couldnt email an admin or something, you had to make a thread that does nothing to change anything other than gather opinions based on your complaint?

Go outside, relax, have a walk....you'll forget all about there being 2 gaming threads. Next time, pick one of them...and stay there!!!!
its not like you own both platform copies and need to read both.

Bad idea.

1. Games like Fallout are very different on the PC thanks to modding.

2. Many PC game threads include questions about video cards and CPUs (will X make this playable at Y?) that don't apply to consoles.

3. There are plenty of PC-specific and console-specific threads, you're focusing too much on the overlap.
