Do we have any hard core oyster lovers in the house?

How do you like them? Raw, Rockefeller, grilled with garlic butter, fried, etc.? Oh, and how do you like eating them, knowing they are filter feeders that filter particles out of the water, and that this is going on on a daily basis?

Not hardcore, but I'd eat then pre-cooked if it's available at the place/restaurant. Pic related taken by a cousin (Bay area).

Don't like them that much, but they are a great source of zinc and even have a little vitamin C.

No thanks. I have an oyster farm almost in my back yard.

My house/back yard is somewhere off to the right.

I don't like the fucking things. Never have.

Love oysters raw although due to the "filter-feeder" thing (and the price!) I don't eat them very often ... also enjoy them deep-fried Japanese-style.

i don't mind them, but don't think much of them. Had shucked raw oysters @ boston's Ye Olde and aside from the novelty, they would be very low on my food list.
About the only way I eat oyster is Japanese fried style.
fried oysters are far better than raw - they actually have taste.

Raw oysters are fantastic, but only like the cold water variety found in the Pacific. Gulf/Atlantic oysters are disgusting.

Kumamotos are a favorite

Kumamotos are the best of all. Small but creamy and perfect. Pacific Northwest oysters are definitely the best of all. But all raw oysters are good at the end of the day.

Fried oysters. Grilled oysters. Oyster po' boy's. All amazing.

I could live on an oyster farm.

No, I stopped eating boogers by the time I was three. Not going to start again now. I'm sure they're good fried or whatever but there are plenty of other good seafood choices. I don't imagine they are much different from clams or other mollusks.

I recall a few years back a bunch of people got food-poisoning at the local oyster festival and EVERYONE just KNEW it had to be from the raw bar clams/oysters.

Turned out it actually was caused by tainted chicken fajita's.

It's certainly possible to get very sick from eating uncooked shellfish but I've done so many hundreds of times and never had a problem once. (the number of uneventful raw meals at least triples if you count uncooked sushi too)

Oysters are zinc bombs. Mussels manganese bombs. Clams do not have any particular megadose of any vitamin or mineral.

I like mussel over oyster.

Never been that crazy about exotic sea food, but has anyone been to the Blue Oyster bar? Fun times.
fun fact; the song
(originally known as El Bimbo, re-arranged for the film), became a huge success in gay clubs worldwide, made its author - Jean Marc Dompierre - a shitton of money, him being otherwise not known for any other relevant work.
