Do WD SE's run hot?

I'm looking at an 80 gb WD SE for a new system and was wondering if I would need a hard drive cooler for it. If I do, I need one that is pretty quiet. Any suggestions? The case I'm looking at is an Antec SLK3700AMB and adding an extra internal fan.

Thanks.

no not hot at all...I have a WD 200GB SE 8MB and use it as a backup/fileserver HD and it's fine without a cooler

yup cmdrdredd is right, no extra cooling is needed. Had a 80 gig and it ran fine on its own.

Buying a quiet hd cooler would be pointless, as the drive would make more noise anyhow.

no hard drive needs a cooler running by itself. now if you had 3 drives next to each other you would probably need a fan on them

I have mine inside some sound dampening enclosures because they developed the high pitched sound. They seem to survive just fine without much cooling
