Do video games make anybody else sick?

I don't really play games much, but I remembered that I had paid for Portal a few years ago so I redownloaded it and started playing it. After 4 levels I started feeling really sick. Three hours later, I still feel really sick.

Most games have been doing this to me for 6-8 years. I got sick with Portals, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament. Oblivion makes me a little bit sick in the Oblivion world but I'm fine in the normal world. I can play Guild Wars no problems. Anybody else have this experience?

yes, If I play 3d games too long I get nauseous and have to quit. It will suddenly happen too. Probably some type of vertigo.

I never paid much attention to the type of camera and if that had any effect. Such as 1st or 3rd person view. Although it does happen more on my tv than on the pc screen.

i think that has to do with the field of view. a lot of people do have that happen and need to adjust it, IIRC

I could never play Doom ever. I had a few failed attempts. the longer I attempted, the longer the headache would be. only first person shooting games tho. I was able to play CS and UT3 tho.

Only FPS games. I couldn't finish HL2 because I get too nauseous.

I got to the water jet ski level before I gave up trying to play it. The other levels made me a bit sick, but that level made me puke.

I had even messed around with changing the field of view. It was better, but still an unpleasant experience.

Extremely too smooth 3D games make me severely sick of nausea like Doom.

Modern games don't make me sick because they aren't perfect squares, walls, and doors with 8378374 frame rate.

Nope...though learned last summer I could do water sports while not getting sick so yeah. :p
I however can't read within a moving vehicle without feeling ill so my body is sometimes dumb as well. :(

Yeah. I've never been capable of reading in a moving vehicle for more than 10 seconds without getting sick.

I have no problems with roller coasters, jet skis, etc though.\

I think I'm fine as long as my eyes and body are in agreement.

Do you have problems watching IMAX movies too? My mom has issues with motion sickness and IMAX movies always make her ill too.

I very rarely felt nauseous playing video games. I realized I was playing too much Doom when I was in a very crowded mall at Christmas time and it occurred to me that it would be so much easier to get where I was going if I had the chain gun.

I don't really get sick or anything, but I find I have trouble with orientation in games, compared to IRL. Like if I was to walk a typical FPS map IRL I'd learn my way around pretty quick, but in games it takes me a while to get a feel for it and know where I'm going. Guess it has to do with the smaller view angle you get from a computer screen, vs IRL.
