Do USB Keyboards need any software, drivers, or anything else to work other than being enabled in the mobo bios?

EDIT- This would be for a USB Compaq keyboard that I wanted to try out.

Thanks

I think it probably depends on your keyboard. Mine looks like it's a regular 101/102-key keyboard, so it doesn't need any special drivers. What keyboard are you thinking of getting?

I got a Hi-Val (made by Samsung) USB keyboard way back. No need for drivers, just software for the multimedia keys.

I have a regular natural keyboard from Microsoft and a Microsoft Intelli Explorer Mouse.
I did not have to install any drivers for Windows 2000
