People reported that USB 1.1 sound cards don't work on USB 3.0 ports on linux and USB 2.0 sound cards might work on USB 3.0 ports on linux.
Do USB 2.0 sound cards actually work on USB 3.0 on linux? Or, should I just buy a USB 3.0 sound card that explicitly supports linux?

I'd think they would work (and not sure why 1.1 wouldn't work on 3.0 ports, I assume its driver related though, with the company doing the 3.0 drivers not bothering to actually support 1.1 since I'm not sure how likely it would be to cause issues), but probably double check with the manufacturer of the audio product, although I think a lot of them don't even explicitly support Linux, so not sure that will help either.

So I guess your best option is just to research, either when you find an audio product you want, see if any Linux users have it and can check specifically for compatibility with regards to that. Or to find people that can confirm compatibility and then buy based on that.
