Some servers i'm downloading from are shutting down for Spring Break (why so early?). Just wondering if they have to shut down

hell no, it's probably just people shutting their systems down or whatever.

They shouldn't shutdown. What about those few losers who don't go anywhere? Think of how much pR0n you could download if you had a,most a full T-3 at your disposal.

No, university connections don't ever shut down (unless there's some other problem). The kiddies in the dorm rooms either are required to turn off all electrical items in their room (we had to do that) or are taking their computers with them.

It's probably just folks shutting down individual pc's for the week unless the servers are being shut down for maintainence/upgrades.

yakko:

I'm one of those lose....err, I mean people who don't go anywhere. :|

My roommates and all my friends are home right now for RIT's spring break. (we have a weird schedule because of the trimesters)

So I'm basically sitting on the equivalent of six T3's with only a handful of other people on campus......

Oh man, next year will be sweet :) But about turning off computers when you leave.. that is no good, I like to access my stuff via ftp/remote admin when I'm away. Hmm looks like I'll have to take my computer along wherever I go.
