they do, but as long as you don't get anything lower than a C you should have nothing to worry about.

remember, everyone else in your classes are second semester seniors too, so the curve will be generous anyway.

I am assuming that you are talking about second semester of your senior year in HS>

I know that Purdue University looks at them. I thought I had it made and let my grades slip due to senioritis. Well, sure enough I got a letter from Purdue stating that I might not be ready for the college life.

Instead of getting all A's and B's like I had been getting, I got a D in second year chem. I just didnt care anymore and I wanted out of that place. Overall for the year I had all A's and B's, but they didnt like seeing that D.

Ok that's a relief. I got a few first B's this upcoming grading period and was a little worried... I still maintain my class rank of #1 though because they balance with my A's from the first nine weeks so for the first semester I have A's and I'm already accepted to college and have received a Presidentitial Scholarship to RIT for a rather large amount...

Generally speaking, all universities don't care. You just need to pass your classes.

<< minendo, was that just a warning or did they not accept you after that? >>

it was a warning, but i had to have meetings with my academic advisor at purdue to prove that i was doing my work and all. it was a big hassle and all because i just quit doing work in HS. I didnt even need to go to my senior year of HS except to get credit for English. I had already achieved my Academic Honors diploma and decided to take a bunch of AP courses senior year. My senior year was pretty much just extra credits.

actually it also depends what uc get into to i'm pretty sure.

for ucla my second semester i had to maintain at least a 3.00. d's and f's can revoke admission. i think the same goes for berkeley. classes must be taken for a grade (i tried to weasel out of a grade in ap calc but admissions wouldn't let me) but i'm pretty sure my friends at davis had a lower gpa req.

basically... once you're in and say you're going, the uc's own you. they already ask for money and the same high gpa.
