Generally speaking, yes. Otherwise, they would never have found this place. On the other hand, there are also a significant number of people who think they know a lot about them...

Question posts in General Hardware prove that many people here are interested in computers but don't yet know "a lot" about hardware.

And while I'd claim to know a lot about some areas, there are many others I have little or no knowledge of (like which are the best Athlon XP motherboards for budget systems). But that's what search and the main AT site are for :)

well actually what do you mean know a lot about computers? I know how to fix a lot of stupid problems that my non-computer knowledgeable friends run in to, and I can build my own computer and know what most of the terms mean, but I don't know how hardware works. I know that higher FSB = faster, but I don't know why that is. What category would I go under? I probably know more then about 99% of the general population but compared to a lot of people here i don't know anything at all
