around this time of year? I mean its thanksgiving and x-mas, prime time for turkey slaughter. I can see a bunch of them on a farm real nervous once november hits.

Well, you know, they really don't survive to tell the story to the rest of their peers.......

Considering that cows walk into the slaughter house...

They're herded into the slaughter house... and as somebody who has worked in a slaughter house, i can guarantee you that the cows are afraid once they smell the blood. There were quite a few times when the cows were herded into the killing cage (more like 3 concrete walls with one wall a metal door, that slides open to drop the cow to the floor once it's been killed) got so scared they tried to jump over the cage... the cow would only get their front legs over, and then workers would need to smash the cow in the face with 2 by 4s or whatever to get them back into the cage.

I can not continue with my intended post after reading this.

I've hunted turkeys... they have incredible eyesight, but they're almost as dumb as rocks. It's next to impossible to sneak up on them (within 20 yards shotgun range). When they see you, they take off running and flying, but by the time they get about 100 yards away, it's like "wtf were we doing? Oh yeah, eating." and they completely forget they were just chased. In the fall, you just find a flock, chase them suddenly to separate the flock, sit down and start making turkey calls. They must think "where'd everyone go? Oh, I hear them." and the come right in.
