Do TUMS work, and how much do you take?

I have been anxious lately, and had a bit of an upset stomach. Do TUMS help when your stomach feels bad? How many do you take at once and for how long?

By good luck pooping, do you mean TUMS messes you up?

Not really......I take a pack at a time. A glass of milk does wonders though....for me at least. Except for the peeing out of the butt part......

but that is for heartburn....

anxious? stop getting anxious...............

Underclock your stomach in 5% intervals until it's stable. Seriously, try some saltine crackers and a little milk. Don't overdose on TUMS regularly since they double as a calcium supplement. Boosting your calcium intake regularly can unbalance the magnesium in your body which can promote heart problems.

If your stomach is hurting because of excess acid or acid reflux, then Tums or Rolaids or a generic antacid should all work fine. Chew it up a little and chase with water. No real danger in eating two instead of one. If your acid stomach persists for more than a few days, see a doc. If it's something besides acid making your stomach hurt (gas, whatever), then antacids will probably not help at all.
