They are advertised on TV all the time, it's kinda like a little fan you install in your intake which supposedly increases horsepower and gas mileage, but does anyone know if they work?

Yes they work if you follow these BS routines:

Never do short trips.

Always drive in increments of 100miles on light traffic road and drive on interstate highways at 35mph(I hear cars get the best mileage around this speed assuming you're not changing speed at all)

Avoid hills.

Accelerate like a granny

never use your A/C

Of course it works. The only reason nobody has them on their cars already is because they do not have very well funded research and developement departments.

The vortex action that those things are suppose to cause would be completely disrupted as the air is sucked in around the valve.

What about preheating the fuel to near its boiling temp before injecting (down-side might include explosions in malfunctioning parts, but hey nothings perfect).

But I don't understand why fuel-injected cars don't have some form of air-injection (cold) too and then we could just skip the intake valves.

Yes, you'll get at least 5mpg more.

Did I mention that the auto manufacturers also have had a carburetor for years that will get 100mpg?
Yep, they wouldn't use it because they are all in cahoots with the oil companies.

they are just a scam.

Here's something interesting though:

in 1967, Buick made an funky air cleaner assembly. Bright red with impellers inside to direct air flow to the carb. It did increase horsepower. Not sure about economy. It is nick-named the Star Wars air cleaner. Very rare now.

I appologize for the repost, I did do a search for the word tornado and it came back with nothing, I must have screwed it up. If i would have known it was a repost, then i would have read the other posts. And i do not like being called a nef just because i made a repost of something i din't realize aalready had threads on the subject. But for the few of you that actually were nice and helped, i thank you.
