Do those Crest Whitestrips work pretty well?

It all depends on the strength that you buy. If your buying the stronger ones do yourself a favour and pick up some Sensodyne + Whitening toothpaste as they will cause tooth sensitivity.

IIRC my brother did that some time back, cost something crazy like $50 and in the ended didn't make much of a noticeable difference.

The reason why I'm interested in them is because I have a couple of friends who used them and their teeth are literally pearly white... I just wanted to confirm with others that they would work.

Walmart is actually selling their own house brand of whitestrips for cheap, and I figure I might as well try them. If they're anything like generic drugs, they will be the exact same thing as Crest Whitestrips only cheaper.

My teenage daughters both tried them, both said they hurt like hell.

One continued to use them and they worked very well, the other one said they hurt too much and quit using them.

night effects works better, the gel stuff u dab on. it stays on better. the night strips have trouble staying in place ..saliva can make them detach so you might have to lie down which is a pain.

I used them and noticed a difference, didnt feel any pain or sensation at all. I used only one package.

I prefer Crest Vivid White Night Toothpaste. Only costs $3 or $4 a tube and it actually works.

Is there any truth to the idea that these things just destroy your teeth? I've got pretty weak teeth to begin with and even with extra care, I'm still very prone to problems. However, I drink a lot of coffee and I don't exactly have an award winning smile. I've thought about picking up some strips myself.

Results may vary. They reviewed a few of these products on a TV show the other day, I can't remember which one. Of the three people that tried three different products, they really didn't notice a distinguishable difference. Even with a $50 set. Just try the strips and see if they work for you. I'm thinking about getting the one at the dentist for ~ 500.

Make sure you get your teeth professionally cleaned first.

I used them about 2 years ago and it made my teeth very sensitive.

Well, at first I tried a box that I had been packing around for a while. After having the first strips in my mouth I noticed it was 2 years past the expiration date on the bottom of the box. I think it was just the peroxide that broke down after the date.

I got a new box of the 14day Crest strips for $19 a grocery, used them all and noticed a pretty remarkable difference. I did not have discolored teeth before I tried them imho. If you have the time I would get the cheaper 14day set from Crest. Less chance of sensitivity problems and they work just as well.

I looked at a store brand, cheaper but it had tons of other chemicals other than the peroxide in the Crest strips.

I tried 'em a while back, unfortunately since my teeth are already sensitive they hurt like hell.

I'd like to know if there is any method that would work on overly sensitive teeth.

I've used the White strips, but I liked Oral B/Rembrandt's 2-hour whitening better. Same results, less time, and no sensitivity at all.

Support your local dentist, get some take home bleaching trays. 🙂

QFT. I just started this and noticed a big difference after just 2 weeks. Get your teeth cleaned and they take an imprint of your upper and lower teeth to make the trays out of. The trays are just a thin clear rubber imprint that fit perfectly over your teeth. You put a thin bead of the gel in the tray and press them onto your teeth. You can't even tell you have them in but they work great!

BTW-Bleaching trays is a little bit misleading. The gel is actually a peroxide concentrate.
