Do this RAM work with this mobo

Hello. I am thinking about getting the Abit IC7-MAX3 motherboard w/ a good P4 processor. Right now, I have a AMD system, consisting of a Soyo Dragon SY-KT400 mobo and a Athlon XP 2000+ processor. I want to use the RAM I currently have in my system, which is "DDRAM 512MB|32X64 PC-2700 MUSHKIN". Will this RAM work with the Abit IC7-MAX3 motherboard? According to the motherboards specs, it takes 4x 184pin Dual DDR 400 RAM. How do I know if my RAM will work or not. Also, in general, how do you know if a certain type of RAM works on a certain type of motherboard. This is something I never really quite understood.

Thanks

well if u plan on getting a p4"c" that is a processor with 800FSB u can' use that ram unless u overclock the ram to atleast 400MHZ u should have 2 rams to use dual channel...i suggest u get DDR3200 rates at 400MHZ if u 2700 can't get up to that speed

Bump... thanks, but can anyone answer the question regarding how I know in general if a certain type of ram works w/ a certain type of mobo?

first of all, you could run that ram what ever the hell spee dyou want.

correct me on this, but i don't even think you need to run it dual channel. it will work just fine, just slowing running single channel.
