Do this if you have an iPad. (new or old)

  • Make sure you're running 4.3
  • Download Xcode if you don't have it already. (You don't need the new $5 version 4, the old one will work too)
  • Plug in iPad
  • iPad will appear in the Xcode 'Organizer', click and enable 'Use for Development' (cancel out of the authentication popup)

Like the 4.2 update changed the iPad (for the better) this takes it to the next step. No more double clicking the home button to pop up a menu to choose a new app. Just swipe (4 or 5 digits) left or right to switch apps.

Magical.

I heard this was still kinda buggy as of a couple months ago. Is that not the case?

It's not 100% and YMMV depending on which apps you're using. e.g., I don't know if certain games that have 4+ finger inputs will work w/ it. But for your basic Twitter/Safari/Reeder/Mail workflow it works great.

Hmm, maybe I'll try this out tonight then.

How do you revert to non-dev mode?
